On November 4th, women from across cultures came together to share their mental health stories to give hope and empower each other to heal and thrive. And, women from across the Unites States and around the world joined in virtually.
Thank you to all who attended and to all who bravely shared their stories. We once again thank our generous sponsors for making this event possible. And thanks to all our hardworking volunteers who gave their precious time to come together to create a community of connection, hope and well-being.
Together, we are normalizing conversations about mental health and inspiring hope and well-being, one story at a time.
We can’t wait to see you all at the 2022 Grit & Grace Conference!
Thank you for your valuable testimonials!
Here are a few we would like to share:
“This is such an uplifting and inspiring event.”
“All of the speakers were amazing, and to me it shows how much we need a special focus on women’s mental health, and the intersectionality with other pieces of culture that we identify with. Thank you so much for providing me with some healing, hope, and validation during a tough morning.”
“I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was my first year attending this conference. I was blown away and so impacted by the stories these women shared. Hearing their resiliency and what helped them to move through difficult times was amazing and I’m looking forward to joining next year.”
“What a wonderful experience for all of us who work in the area of healthcare and mental health…It’s such important and useful information for us to hear/learn as professionals in this field, but maybe more importantly simply as living beings on this planet, seeking to live life with acceptance, love, joy and awe for this amazing life we’ve all been gifted together.”
“The Grit & Grace conference is a place where I fit in. Women sharing experiences, offering solutions, and giving hope. It lets me know I’m not alone. Thank you for being here. Namaste.”
“I was moved by the stories the speakers shared, especially Yamini’s. Her vulnerability was beautiful, and I related strongly to the culturally-specific barriers to mental health she experienced.”
“This was my first Grit & Grace Conference, and I was absolutely blown away. I thought it would be just women talking about their experiences with mental health, along with professionals providing information about mental health. However this far exceeded my expectations and I am thankful for that, I love that it was interactive and allowed me to become more than just a listening ear. It also hit home in many places and helped me understand not only my mental health but that of others better. I am so thankful that I attended and can’t wait for next year’s Conference!”
“The power of sharing stories reduces isolation and empowers others. This conference touched on issues so many of us are facing at work and home right now without being heavy handed or sharing superficial self-care tools. This conference is authentic and through story sharing, teaches how to care for oneself in the context of community and the mental health field.
“The first two presenters impacted my life, since I have a teenager who is suffering from depression. These two ladies inspired me and gave a hint of hope to the future of my teen by showing ways they cope with depression and not getting stuck there but found ways to move forward with their lives.”
“The Grit & Grace Virtual Conference was such a powerful event. Genuine voices, stories and expertise that travel through your soil and activate the hope in me. Thank you, ASHA, for bringing this together as during this pandemic so much we need to hear the resiliency of strong souls and build on each other as a community.”
